Last week, our lab took a trip to Radford, VA, to visit International Scientific Technologies, the company we work with on some of our grants. We got a tour of their facilities, which is actually a convert school house, gave presentations on our research, and held meetings to discuss ongoing grant applications. Interestingly enough, I discovered that a grant had been written up based primarily on my project, and it was to be submitted soon thereafter. I suppose we will see if anything comes of that. We also learned about polyoxometalates from another group of students that is working with the company on a corrosion project. It was good to get some new advice and ideas as we work towards the next experiment that we will be sending on to the International Space Station. That’s all for now!
