American Roots, Italian Branches

This month I have been writing the introduction of my thesis, which involves an exploration of what graffiti is today as compared to what it was when it emerged in the 1970s.  In order to understand graffiti’s roots in American culture, I had to explore the lexicon behind graffiti.
